Read a phone over the cable

Typing an IMEI off a screen is where mistakes get in, and a customer telling you the battery is fine is not the same as the battery being fine. Plug the phone into the shop PC and it reports itself: real IMEI, serial, battery health and cycles, storage, iCloud lock.

1. Download the agent onto the shop PC

   Go to Test phone and hit Download agent (Windows). Double-click Procell-Agente.exe — it installs itself and starts with Windows. It lives in the tray, with no black window on your screen.

2. Install iTunes once

   Windows needs Apple drivers to see an iPhone at all. Install iTunes (or the Apple Devices app) one time on that PC and forget about it. Skip this and the agent will see something Apple on the USB and not be able to read it.

3. Plug in and trust

   Connect the phone and tap Trust this computer on the iPhone, or turn on USB debugging on Android. Without that the phone is detected but stays closed — you will see the model and nothing else.

4. Watch it read

   The screen shows the agent is connected and the device it found, then reads the report — battery, cycles, panics — while you wait. Do not unplug it mid-read. If nothing shows up, the agent for that PC is not running: each computer has its own.

5. It lands in the device passport

   Every scan attaches to the passport of that IMEI and fills in what lasts — serial, battery health and cycles, iCloud, storage. So the second time that phone comes through your door, you already have its history.

6. Any employee can use it

   Using the agent is open to your whole team — a technician needing to read a device should not have to wait for the owner. Only issuing and revoking the keys stays with the owner. The key is write-only and minimal: it can send a heartbeat and post the scan of the connected device, and nothing else. No customers, no sales, no inventory. It is per PC and you can revoke it.
