Test the phone
The argument you cannot win is the one about a fault that was already there. Testing on the way in — and on the way out — is how you stop having it.
Test at intake
Before touching anything, run the checklist: screen, touch, cameras, speakers, microphone, buttons, charging, battery health. Each one is a pass or a fail, on record with its date.
Mark what is already broken
A device with a bad camera before you open it is a device you will not be blamed for. The failures found at intake are the ones that protect you.
Test again before delivery
Run the same checklist when the repair is done. It is the last chance to catch what you might have knocked loose — cheaper now than as a warranty return.
It stays in the passport
Both tests are stamped into the device record by IMEI, so the before and after are there for good — and you can print them for the customer.
