Organize your inventory with categories
Categories are how you group your stock the way your shop actually talks about it — cases, chargers, screens, phones. They live in Inventory and they're yours to name.
-
Open the inventory menu
Go to Inventory, open the actions menu and tap + Category. You need the inventory permission — owners and managers have it, and you can give it to any employee.
-
Name it the way you say it
Use the words your team uses at the counter: Cases, Chargers, Screens, Used phones. The name is what everyone will see when filtering, so plain beats clever.
-
Say whether it's tracked by IMEI
Turn on requires IMEI for categories that hold phones. Every unit is then tracked one by one by its IMEI, so you always know which exact handset you have and which one you sold.
-
Group them into subcategories
Under Inside, pick a main category to nest the new one below it — Accessories → Cases, Accessories → Chargers. Opening the main category still shows everything, subcategories included, so nothing hides from you. Subcategories inherit the IMEI setting from the one above them.
-
Put products in it
Edit any product and pick its category, or set it while you're receiving a purchase order — a whole distributor order can land in the right category in one go.
-
Use them to find things fast
Your categories show up as filters on the inventory list, each with its own count, so you can see at a glance how many cases or chargers you're holding.
