Find a customer, a repair or a part

The customer walks in and says "I left a phone here last week." You should not have to remember their name, or scroll through a list. Anything in the system is two keystrokes away.

  1. Press Ctrl + K from anywhere

On a Mac it is ⌘ + K. A search box opens on top of whatever screen you are on — you do not have to go back to the menu first. It searches repairs, customers and parts at the same time.

  2. Type whatever you remember

A name, a phone number, the ticket number, or the IMEI of the device. You do not need the whole thing: a piece of the phone number or the last digits of the IMEI is enough to bring it up.

  3. Or scan instead of typing

If the customer brings the printed ticket, scan its barcode. If they bring the device, scan the IMEI from the box or from *#06# on screen. Any scanner works, and so does the camera on your phone or tablet.

  4. Inside a screen, use its own filters

Quick search is for jumping straight to one thing. When you want a group — every repair that is ready, everything a customer ever left — open Repairs or Customers and filter there.

Two customers, one phone number? The system does not allow it — one phone number belongs to one customer. That is exactly what keeps the search reliable, and what keeps a repair history from splitting in two.
