Store parts in bins & shelf locations
Every part can carry a location — a bin, a shelf, an aisle — and it is kept per store, so the same screen protector can sit in a different bin at each shop. The location travels with the part everywhere you look it up.
Open the part
In Inventory, tap the part to open its detail. You will see one row per store with its stock.
Type the location for that store
Each store row has a Location box. Type where the part lives and click away — it saves on its own. It holds up to 40 characters, so anything you would write on a label fits.
Use whatever scheme you already use
Shops organize differently, so the field adapts. By default it is free text: a small shop names the bin after the model — iPhone 14 Pro Max — and drops every part for that model in it.
Warehouse style: row + bin
If you number your aisles, turn on Settings → Use row + bin (warehouse). The Location field then becomes two boxes — Row and Bin — and saves as R3 · B16. It is off by default and it is per company, so every store uses the same naming. Switching back to free text is one click.
See it while you pick
Back in Inventory, the location shows right next to the part with a 📍 pin, so whoever walks to the shelf already knows where to go.
Tie the part to a work order
Open the repair and add the part from Part from your inventory — scan its QR or search it. The unit comes off stock and its cost lands on that repair, so the job's real margin is right. If you do not have it, the same place lets you mark the repair as waiting for part or add it to a purchase order.
